The 2024 Arrowhead Home and Builders Show

Back again and ready to go

On April 4-7, 2024, Liechty Mobile Housing Duluth was featured at the 56th Arrowhead Home and Builders Show at the Duluth Event and Convention Center. A longstanding tradition for those looking to create their dream home in the Arrowhead region, this is the second year since acquiring Mobile Housing, Inc., in 2021 that Liechty Homes has brought a display home to the show. Liechty Homes general manager Tom Erie says that bringing model homes to shows and events gives more people the opportunity to understand the options that are available to them in a factory-built home. “You’re going to get a lot of people coming through the homes that wouldn’t normally come onto the sales lot, opening their eyes to the possibilities of what our industry can do,” he says. Kevin Pryor, Office Manager and Sales Associate at Liechty Mobile Housing Duluth, agrees, noting that many people don’t have an understanding of what a modern manufactured home is. “Most people have conceptions of manufactured homes built 40-50 years ago and don’t know what the possibilities are now. The most often asked question: Really? This is a manufactured house?”

A highly customizable floor plan

This year’s display home was a Schult Legend 518. Our Duluth team opted to lengthen the standard floor plan with the addition of a porch and morning room and added a fireplace to the main living area. “I felt that our display was top notch,” says Terry Brouse, Sales Associate at Liechty Mobile Housing Duluth. “We picked an excellent floor plan and dolled it up to the nines to show what we can do.” The show home was well received by those who visited, according to Pryor. “We had a lot of good feedback. People loved the porch and morning room, they loved the hickory and pine package and solid core doors. A lot of people mentioned the fireplace.”

“One great thing about this house is that almost no matter what I’m asked, I can say yes,” Pryor says. Bigger, smaller, longer, wider, narrower—as a salesperson I hate to say no, and that house lets us say yes almost every time. We picked the Legend specifically because it’s so customizable that we don’t have to tell the customer no when they ask ‘Can we do this?' or ‘Can we do that?’ There are a lot of options they can choose from.”

“I felt that our display at the Home and Builder’s show was a huge success,” says Brouse. “We had literally several thousand people through with the commentary being overwhelmingly positive. We have an excellent staff that is good at handling questions and creating rapport with potential customers. We are already receiving traffic directly due to our display home. I feel that our efforts were a great success.”
